In mediation, the mediator serves as a neutral third party to assist the couple in reaching agreements to resolve the issues in their divorce or legal separation, including property division, support, custody and placement. The mediator provides information about the divorce process and guides the discussion to help the couple reach agreements. The mediator cannot provide legal advice to either spouse and cannot advocate for either spouse.
Because the mediator cannot provide legal advice, many clients will hire an attorney to consult with during the mediation process. Walny Legal Group serves as both the neutral mediator for both parties or as an advocate for one spouse in the mediation process.
